The Thomas Jefferson Classical Academy (TJCA) Board of Directors is pleased to announce that Lisa Stepp has been selected as the next Principal of the Grammar School. Ms. Stepp is well known to the school community as she has served as the Grammar School Assistant Principal for the last two years and has been a member of the school community for the last seventeen years.
Ms. Stepp's love and appreciation for Thomas Jefferson began in 2005 when her oldest daughter began attending TJCA as a 6th grade student. A few years later, her youngest daughter was part of the inaugural year of the Grammar School as a 5th grader. Lisa joined the TJCA family as a 5th grade math teacher in January of 2008 and later transitioned to the Exceptional Children’s (EC) department where she worked primarily with math students. In her spare time, she enjoys hiking, kayaking, and cuddling with her furbaby, Cooper.
Prior to moving to North Carolina she lived in Texas where she graduated from Baylor University, continued her education at the University of Texas at Arlington, and taught for five years in Texas.
Ms. Stepp is excited to continue working with the talented staff at the Grammar School in this new role and will be collaborating closely with Mr. Cole to ensure a smooth transition in leadership. Please join us in congratulating Ms. Stepp upon her selection as the next Principal of the Grammar School.
