AVONDALE — Thomas Jefferson Classical Academy (TJCA) is proud to announce Jamie Hicks as the next head varsity football coach.
Hicks brings a wealth of experience to the job having served as a head coach and assistant coach in numerous sports.
From 2010-2017, Hicks was employed at TJCA, serving as the Bus Transportation Director. During his tenure, he was the head coach of multiple sports including JV football, wrestling, golf, softball, and baseball.
Prior to that, Hicks worked at CHASE High School where in addition to his classroom responsibilities, he was the head coach of the JV football team, and also coached softball, basketball, track, and golf.
Hicks attended college at Mars Hill College and Ashford University.
Athletic Director Steven Jones is excited to have Hicks lead the football program.
“We’re thrilled to have Jamie Hicks back home at TJCA. He was there every step of the way as the TJCA football program began its rise to six straight 10-win seasons,” said Jones. “He’s familiar with the hallways, traditions, and components that make TJCA so special. We can’t wait to watch our student-athletes take the field this fall.”
