Dr. Chance Witherspoon » Biography

Biography

 

Dr. Chance Witherspoon joined the TJCA board in August 2024. He currently serves on the board’s finance, facilities, and curriculum committees. Dr. Witherspoon is the Director of eLearning at Cleveland Community College, leading efforts in online education, instructional design, and technology integration. He earned a B.S. in Technology Education from NC State University and an M.S. in Instructional Technology from Appalachian State University. Dr. Witherspoon completed his Ed.D. in Organizational Leadership from Gardner-Webb University, where his research focused on enhancing digital marketing, volunteer management, and training processes for a nonprofit healthcare organization by implementing modern technology solutions.

 

With 18 years of experience in education, Dr. Witherspoon has taught at the middle school, high school, and higher education levels. His focus on integrating technology into education and supporting student success through innovative solutions has been a consistent theme throughout his career. In addition to his educational work, he has over 15 years of baseball coaching experience, working with middle school, high school, and youth travel teams. 

 

Dr. Witherspoon resides in Rutherford County, NC, with his wife, Colleen, and their two children, who both attend TJCA. Outside of his professional responsibilities, he enjoys coaching travel baseball, camping, investing in securities, studying theology, and playing disc golf. Dr. Witherspoon is dedicated to fostering a thriving educational environment that prepares students for success both in and out of the classroom.
